Regardless of your body shape when it comes to jeans finding your perfect fit is everything! When you're doing it online knowing your measurements makes it so much easier.
To start: Find your natural waist, this is the smallest part of your waist bellow your ribcage. Depending on the length of your torso this may be much higher than where your jeans come up to. Wrap the
measuring tape around this part, take a deep breath and then exhale and relax. Join the end of the measuring tape to where it comfortably connects. The number at this point is your natural waist.
Next step: Find your hip measurement by finding your hip bones and measure around this part just like you did for your waist. This may or may not be the widest part of your hips - don't worry... it's the right place to measure.
How high will the jeans come up on you? Each style of jeans has a rise indicated. This refers to how high they will sit on your waist. Will they sit above or below your belly button? This is easier to do with a friend but start with the measuring taple at your belly button. Keep it straight and thread it through your legs. Get your friend (boyfriend, kid, husband, who ever is handy!) to hold onto it at the pack of your pants. Once it's secure reach to the middle of your crotch and grab the point of the measuring tape that is right there. For example: Your belly button sits at 13"/33cm and the style you picked has a rise of 12.5"/31.75cm. This means on you they will sit at approximately 1/2"/1.25cm below your belly button.
How long will the jeans be on me? This is called measuring your inseam. Also easier to do with a friend! Place the end of the measuring tape at the middle of your crotch between your legs and let the rest of it fall to the floor. Get your friend to smooth it out along your inner leg, so it's straight and read the number at the bottom. Compare to the length of your chosen style.
We recommend choosing a full size down from other non stretch denim brands as they will give about one inch during the first wear.
